Travelling and Arriving Blog

Breakfast Club

The travelling used in The Breakfast Club was mostly vehicles. A lot of the cars that the students arrived in are very reflective of there characters and there family.

The first car was shown from a close up with the camera zooming out so it represents how she comes from a wealthy family as she is shown in a well-known, expensive car.

We can see from this screen shot that this a fairly cheap car and the protagonist may be from a poorer family. We also see another shot of  him, his mother and his sister sitting in the front which is quiet rare when in cars.

The Jockey appears in a 'station-wagon', this shows his masculinity and he may come from a hard working family.

We can see that this character arrives without any parents or car. This shows that he is more independent and also suggests that he is a rebel.

This person is a middle-class character. We can see this as the car she drives isn't too expensive but it does the job. We also she that she comes from more of a feminine family as she comes out of a lilac car.

In our film, if we decided to make an opening transport scene, we would use a bicycle. I have chosen this because a bicycle is a middle-class/wealthy sort of transport. We could also use public transport as this is the most-common and it does show independence and how we don't need our parents.
